Angers at SxSW 2015

Austin Angers sister cities committee (aka Austin Angers Connect) finally announced Angers’ presence at South by Southwest. It’s part of the French Tech Club, and is organized by a new entity, Austin Angers Creative, bringing together different actors of the Angers tech and cultural scene. Remember that a wine tasting event will give a preview of Angers’ presence at SXSW tonight at Vino Vino (on top of an opportunity to sample delicious Loire valley wines!).

For the fifth year of presence, Austin’s sister city in France: Angers will present new actors and new startups at SxSW to create a growth and a dynamism between Central Texas and the Angers Loire valley area in Western France:

– Austin Angers Music supports three musical companies from Angers which manage and produce artists.
These companies will meet professionals and learn about their way to work.
Austin Angers Creative will help French artists to play during the SXSW and try to have an opportunity in North America.

– As part of Austin Angers Cinema, a partnership is growing between Austin and Angers with Premiers Plans Festival in Angers, where Austin’s professionals are invited to discover European Cinema.
This Partnership will give a dynamic for the two cities and opportunity for professionals from the two sides.

The French’s program at SXSW

The whole French’s program at SXSW is now published on FrenchTechClub.com.

La French TechWe don’t have all the details of all the events yet, but on top of the French chefs’ popup restaurant French in Austin already announced, I can already tell you there will be conferences at the Hilton Dowtown and the French Tech Pavillion in the Convention center, startup pitches at both the French Legation and the Convention center, an entrepreneurs giant meetup, a presentation of Austin’s ecosystem for French companies and their families, movie sessions, DJ sets, and two full afternoons of live music.

Sunday the 15th might be the best and easiest day to join for the locals. That’s when the giant entrepreneurs meetup and the presentation by the French American Business Council of Austin and the other French American organizations in Austin will take place.

But the French Tech Club’s focus on Monday the 16th will be food, wine & tech, a topic likely to get the general public’s attention, just as much as the intriguing Slip français Very love trip of Tuesday the 17th. It is to be noted that the French Tech Club will close later that night, at midnight, instead of 10PM the other days.

As SXSW transitions from Interactive to Music, Austin’s sister city in France (Angers), will take the lead with the Autin Angers showcase of Wednesday the 18th.

On Thurday the 19th, it will be back to tech, with an intelligent objects afternoon.

Before the French music export bureau concludes those six French days at SXSW on Friday the 20th.

French bands at Austin Psych Fest from tomorrow!

French music professionals are in town for Austin Psych Fest, announces Austin Angers Connect, the French sister city committee.

Check out the Angers band Eagles Gift that’s going to play at Carson Creek Ranch on Friday at 4:30PM.

French Morning Texas, the webmagazine for the French speakers in the State, also announced French band La Femme will play on Friday night at 10:15PM and French electro-pop duo Zombie-Zombie on Saturday at 5PM.

Austin Angers Connect

“About ten French music professionals will be in Austin from May 1st to May 4th for the Austin Psych Fest,” announces Austin Angers Music.

“This will be the occasion for Austin Angers Music to support French band Eagles Gift from Angers,” adds Austin Angers Music.

“We’ll also get together with the organizers of Austin Psych Fest, partners of Levitation-France, to kick off the French version of the festival that will take place on September 19th and 20th in Angers.”
