French digital companies

Bazaarvoice is a network for brands and retailers headquartered in Austin that has an office in Paris. In Central Texas, it employs numerous French content analysts to serve clients like Bruneau, Castorama, L’Oréal or Les 3 Suisses.

With sites representing over 773,000 paid listings of vacation rental homes in 171 countries, HomeAway says it is “the world’s leading online marketplace for the vacation rental industry”. The portfolio of this company headquartered in Austin includes Abritel.fr and Homelidays.com in France and key worldwide managers based in the capital of Texas come from France or lived in French-speaking countries.

Available in more than 50 countries and 26 languages, Indeed brands itself as “the #1 job site worldwide, with over 100 million unique visitors per month” and “the leading pay-for-performance recruitment advertising network”. Founded by Paul Forster and Rony Kahan in 2004, it has over 600 employees in Austin, Dublin, London, Mountain View, New York and Stamford, including a France, Belgium, Luxemburg and French-language Swiss and Canada team based in Austin.

MediCloud is a startup co-founded by two French in Austin in 2013. It aims at redefining the way patients, physicians, and pharmacies connect together in the US.

 

Terefic! is a job references website founded by a French former Technip USA director who came up with the idea when he tried unsuccessfully to get a performance bonus for an unpaid international intern. Emmanuel Toutain felt compelled to find something else to show gratitude to the intern, offered to serve as a reference and created the online service that would enable a prospective employer to call from overseas.
